I just found out about keyframes and watched a tutorial online, and it is the answer to everything. it allows you to make effects "move" or change in a specific clip. so you set one point to normal, then set the next "keyframe" to where you want, then when you play, it plays from point A to point B. So this just opened the door for 100000000000 more things.
